Removal of Azo Dye Carmoisine by Adsorption Process on Diatomite

نویسندگان

چکیده

This work aims to evaluate the adsorption capacity of an abundant natural diatomite (ND) remove azo dye carmoisine, known as a harmful emerging organic pollutant. Indeed, best our knowledge, no results were reported on this subject. The ND was characterized by FTIR, XRD, and SEM/EDX analyses. experimental study carried out in batch mode. Results showed that adsorbent is mainly composed silica. A fraction calcite ankerite also identified. It porous material with specific surface about 41 m2.g-1 hydroxyl functional group -OH. Adsorption process found be effective removing carmoisine colorant. strongly affected adsorbate contents, solution pH, temperature, water hardness mineralization. At room optimal conditions for highest (12 mg.g-1) colorant concentration 50mg.L-1, pH 2, contact time 30min, content 1 g.L-1. Modeling has are well modeled Freundlich isotherm multilayer adsorption. reaction kinetics pseudo-second order, thermodynamic parameters indicated nature endothermic spontaneous.

Removal of textile dye from aqueous solutions by nanofiltration process

The feasibility of employing nanofiltration (NF) in the decolorization of ionic (direct blue 86) and nonionic (disperse blue 56) dye aqueous solutions was investigated. The effects of feed concentration (60- 180 mg/l), pressure (0.5- 1.1 MPa) and pH (6- 10) were studied. Experiments were performed in a laboratory- scale set up by using a TFC commercial spiral wound polyamide nanofilter. The res...

The study of an azo dye removal from liquid medium by modified clay

In this batch study, montmorillonite was modified by a cationic surfactant [hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide (HDTMA-MMT)] and used as sorbent to remove bromocresol green (BCG) from aqueous solutions. The effect of several factors such as surfactant loading rate onto the clay, contact time, pH, adsorbent dosage, dye concentration, and ion strength were investigated on the sorption. The equilib...

The kinetic study of the AZo Dye Decolourisation by advanced oxidation process

In the present study, advanced oxidation treatment, UV/ was applied to decolourisation of Acid Orange 8 (AO8). The UV radiation was carried out with a 15 W low-pressure mercury lamp. Kinetic model for the decolourisation of the dye was developed based on experimental results and known chemical and photochemical reactions. The observed kinetic reaction constant was determined and correlated as a...
